Founder's Square Office Building (675 Randolph Street)

A 13-story, 353,000 sf Class "A" office building, designed to meet Department of Defense (DOD) minimum Anti-Terrorism Force Protection (ATFP) Standards within the Founder’s Square development project in Arlington, VA. The building, the first to meet the DOD’s Level IV security standards, sits atop a 250,000 sf structured parking garage, which extends three levels below grade and provides secured parking for 600 cars.

The building is Construction Type IB and has an 82-foot secured perimeter surrounded by a sizeable lawn separating it from surrounding buildings within the complex. The building’s substructure and superstructure consists of cast-in-place concrete footings and walls with conventionally reinforced concrete flat slabs in the tower and was designed in accordance with the requirements of the Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) for the design of buildings to resist progressive collapse. The Founders Square development is certified LEED-ND Gold (neighborhood development), a pilot program under the USGBC rating system.

ETI provided multiple services on this project, including earthwork and foundation monitoring and testing, structural concrete inspections, architectural and structural precast concrete inspections, as well as structural steel, masonry and curting wall/ windows inspections.
